Here’s something about me that can be a bit of a double-edged sword. I like to think I’m very consistent in what I do which I see as a positive trait. But sometimes I can end up putting a lot of pressure on myself that way. And in doing so actually end up assuming that I can’t let things slide, ever. But the reality is the world keeps spinning even when I cut myself some slack from time to time and actually concentrate only on the things that are vital.
GIVE YOURSELF SOME GRACE
This is exactly what happened with writing to you and staying in touch with you all on social media the past few weeks. And the reason why I’m telling you this is because we’re approaching a very busy time of the year just before the holidays. If you’re anything like me, you’ll want to do it all, get overwhelmed and then have to drop a few things off your list anyway. So this is just a gentle reminder to prioritise the things that are truly important to you and give yourself some grace with the rest. And I’m saying this to you as much as I do to myself. :)
AN EXCITING ANNOUNCEMENT
To-do lists aside, I have an exciting announcement for you today. It is a project that has been on my mind for a while now so it feels all the more special that I will be able to share it with you soon. Drumroll, please… This December, I’ll be releasing a podcast called Wellbeing for Musicians!
My intention is for it to become a space where musicians can feel supported and where they can find performance well-being resources. In short a guide to help you on your journey to becoming a happier, healthier musician. My plan is to offer you a mix of interviews with inspiring musicians and performance wellbeing specialists plus solo episodes where I share my take on the issues we musicians face.
DO YOU HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS?
